Avenged Sevenfold drop out of Reading Festival at last minute

Avenged Sevenfold have been forced to cancel their appearance today (August 24) at the Reading Festival.

The band have had to pull their Main Stage performance because frontman M Shadows real name Matt Sanders is suffering from vocal problems.

"We're very sorry to tell you that Avenged Sevenfold will not be performing at Reading today, August 24. As many of you know, the band had to shorten their set at Leeds on Friday due to vocal breed. Since then, Matt's doctors in the United Kingdom and Los Angeles make both well-advised him that he must rest his voice and cannot do," the band explained in a statement.

They added that their isaac Bashevis Singer should be on the mend, and they hope future dates will not be effected.

"Thankfully there ar no long-run problems and with proper rest, Matt will return to the road before long. The ring toured all summer with Iron Maiden throughout Europe and the UK. They returned base August 1, but because they wanted to play Reading and Leeds very much, they returned this week for the fete. They were blown aside by the number of fans wHO came to see them play at Leeds. The band is still in England nowadays and is extremely defeated that they can't play a show they have been looking forward to for a long time."

The band ar expected to return to the UK at the end of 2009.

As with Slipknot, world Health Organization dropped out of todays bill earlier in the week, organisers will not be adding any new bands to the notice, but ar working out an alternative running order.

In 1996, LeAnn Rimes break out of nowhere with her debut single, "Gentle," which immediately captured the attention of country fans across America. It wasn't just the fact that her rich, powerful vocals were unusually like to Patsy Cline -- it was the fact that Rimes was only 13 geezerhood old. Like Tanya Tucker and Brenda Lee ahead her, she had a make with her debut single and was scarce a teenager at the time. It was quite an auspicious direction to start a vocation. Born in Jackson, MS, merely raised in Garland, TX, Rimes (natural August 28, 1982) began tattle as a baby, playacting at local endowment contests. At the long time of 11, she released her number one album on an independent record label called Nor Va Jak. That same year, Bill Mack, a Dallas disk chouse and record showman, met Rimes, and impressed by her talents, he took her under his wing and began cultivating a plan to break her into the mainstream. The cornerstone of Mack's plan was a vocal called "Depressed," which he had written in the '60s. Mack claimed that he had scripted the melodic phrase for Cline, merely she had died before she was able to disk the song.

Passim 1995, Rimes' career continued to advance momentum, as she performed more than C concerts and appeared on boob tube shows crossways Texas. After Mack arranged a record contract for Rimes with Curb Records, the label sent out a liberation with the single of "Gentle" that claimed the DJ had been waiting over 30 days to find the right vocaliser to sing "Depressed." The narration was an exaggeration: "Aristocratic" had been recorded by no less than trine different artists, including Bill Mack and Kenny Roberts, wHO both released versions on Starday in the '60s, and in 1993, Kathryn Pitt released the record as a single in her native Australia. Nevertheless, the narration was repeated passim the commonwealth and mainstream music push, adding to the growth myth that Rimes was the replacement to Cline's tradition. "Blueish" and its accompanying album of the same constitute became major hits in the summer of 1996.

Blue debuted at number leash on the pop charts, merchandising over 123,000 copies within its first gear week of acquittance -- the largest figure to escort in the history of the SoundScan tracking system. Rimes was nominative for the Country Music Association Horizon awarding and the CMA Best Country Singer, comely the youngest isaac Merrit Singer in the history of the CMA awards to receive a nomination; she north Korean won neither prize. After 2 band aid 1997 releases -- Unshackled Melody: The Early Years and You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs -- she issued her sec proper LP, Sittin' on Top of the World, in 1998. Her self-titled third album followed a year by and by and I Need You appeared in early 2001. The next yr, Rimes emerged with a sexy dash for the pop-oriented Perverted Angel, but returned to contemporary body politic in 2005 with This Woman. Her 2006 try Whatsoever We Wanna set up her expiration back to pop up and was released exclusively in Europe. In 2007 she kicked off the Evan Almighty soundtrack with the religious doctrine rave-up "Ready for a Miracle," appeared on Hal Ketchum's single "In Front of the Alamo," and began promoting her next album, Family, with the individual "Goose egg Better to Do."

Lily Allen's TV show fails to attract viewers

Lily Allen's new talk show failed to attract a significant number of viewers, when it aired as part of BBC3's re-launch on Tuesday night.
The pop singer has turned TV presenter with 'Lily Allen and Friends', yet the high profile TV show attracted just 255,000 viewers, around 2% of the audience share according to reports.
The first night guests were Hollywood actor Cuba Gooding Jr and comedian David Mitchell.
Despite the figures a spokeswoman for the digital channel said: "It's a solid start for the show. It's only the first one but it performed really well with the 16-34 age group."
Some audience members were reported to have walked out of the recording because they were so bored.
But Allen, 22, wrote in her MySpace blog: "The audience were great, standing in a hot studio for two hours watching me fluff my lines is not my idea of fun, but they seemed to enjoy it."
She continued: "Due to it being the first show we've done, we ran over a little and naturally a small number of the audience had to catch the last trains back to wherever they came from."
Allen recently suffered a miscarriage and said she was "trying to get back to normality after what has been a rocky start to the year".

SJP to Son: You'll Smoke It, Too!

The family that smokes together, bequeaths the habit to kids together.

Mr. SJP -- Matthew Broderick -- says he still falls of the wagon and will go on a week-long smoking binge from time to time. Matthew even threw his wife under the bus and revealed that SJP is actually worse with the sticks than he is. Matty told New York magazine that his 5-yerar-old son has the "gene of a smoker".

Whenever he and Sarah Jessica inhale, little Wilkie becomes a curious bee and is always asking what they're doing and why people smoke.

Paula and Boytoy -- Lil' Pitchy

It lasted longer than anyone ever thought: Paula Abdul and J.T. Torregiani, her restaurateur man of over a year, have called it quits, citing their hectic work schedules.

The duo reportedly broke up two months ago and J.T has moved out of Paula's manse according to Us. Last year the "Idol" co-host said she finally found a man that was a "positive force" in her life and had even caught baby fever, saying she wanted an offspring within the next two years.

The clock's tickin', but maybe Simon and Randy can make a small donation.

Archuleta's Dad Cramping His Style

It doesn't get any cooler than going on tour with the American Idol gang and having your dad along for the ride.

David Archuleta's stage dad wouldn't miss an opportunity to cramp his 17-year-old son style -- so Jeff's going on the bus with David. Towards the end of last season, David's father wasn't allowed back stage due to his unruly interference, but has somehow managed to squeeze his way back into his son's spotlight. David's pop has his own bunk and will apparently split the parental supervision duties with David's mom from time to time.

Looks like the other guys won't be having any groupies on the bus for their own rides (via People).

Maybe she really is throwing her full support behind him.
